The 1600 Supreme version 2016 is a replica of the legendary 1x10 amp used by Keith Richards. The original 1959 1600 Supreme was sold alternately under the Supro or Oahu brands, both of which were owned by parent company Valco. The Supro version was led by 6973 lamps while the Oahu version had 6V6 lamps. It is this last version which serves as a model for the replica which concerns us today. The new 1600 Supreme is said to deliver full, clear sound even at high volume and easily accept pedals. Versatile, it should work just as well with hot jazz and country as it does with muddy blues and hard rock. The preamp has two gain stages placed in parallel, but which can be adjusted via a single button. This therefore means that there are two instrument inputs, and that it is possible either to actually use two of them or to connect only one to the input.
