The original 1959 1600 Supreme was sold alternately under the Supro or Oahu brands, both of which were owned by parent company Valco. The Supro version was led by 6973 lamps while the Oahu version had 6V6 lamps. It is this last version which serves as a model for the replica which concerns us today.

The new 1600 Supreme is supposed to deliver a full, clear sound even at high volume and easily accept pedals. Versatile, it should work just as well with hot jazz and country as it does with muddy blues and hard rock.

The preamp has two gain stages placed in parallel, but which can be adjusted via a single button. This therefore means that there are two instrument inputs, and that it is possible either to actually use two of them or to connect just one to input 1+2 in order to double the gain. It is also possible to use A/B or A/B/Y pedals to use both inputs as clean and overdrive channels.

The power stage is led by two JJ 6V6 lamps. It is combined with a 10" HP Custom Voiced Supro BD10, very close to the BD12 fitted to the brand's famous Black Magick. Here are all the specifications:
